Being A Met Fan Is Like Getting Hit In The Face With A Bat Every Day
-
So you buy a ticket to a major league ball game, and you know that there are all sorts of disclaimers and waivers on the ticket. And then light-hitting Luis Castillo comes up, shatters his bat, and the splintered maple hits you square in the face, injuring you pretty badly. What can you do? The Mets fan to whom this happened is suing the team, Castillo, the bat manufacturer, Major League Baseball, and Ramon Castro, who loaned Castillo the bat. Granted it's probable that maple isn't the best wood for bats and it shatters a lot, but don't you know that bats sometimes fly into the stands when you walk into the ballpark? Isn't that covered by the fine print? (New York Daily News)
