Okay, so you go to look at a house or apartment you're interested in buying or renting. They tell you to take off your shoes. Do you? If it's a house owned by a family whose heritage is of that tradition, like for some Asian cultures, then sure, but if it's just a landlord or seller wanting you to keep your dirty shoes out of there, and you might have dirty or hole-riddled socks, what then? Is it fair to ask potential buyers or renters to take off their shoes? (New York Times)
