They've come up with a pill that a pregnant woman can take to cure a disorder that could cause a baby to be born with malformed genitalia. But there's a possible side effect: It could make a girl who gets the treatment less likely to be a lesbian. And that has some people calling this engineering for sexual orientation. Therein lies the controversy, and the issue is this: If you could take a pill that would make it unlikely that your kid will be gay, would you do that? If so, isn't that saying that being gay is having a disease? (Los Angeles Times)
