Sucks When Your Child's Death Becomes A Punch Line
-
30 years later, the woman who became famous when she said that a dingo took her baby in the Australian outback -- you surely saw the movie, or the "Seinfeld" reference -- wants the Northern Territory government to finally record on her daughter's death certificate how she died. She says that it came down to her or a dingo, and after three inquests, a trial, an overturned conviction, and a Commission of Inquiry, the case should have been declared closed and the cause of death determined, but the case remains listed as "unsolved." But even if the state commission exonerated her, that doesn't prove what actually happened, does it? (Sydney Daily Telegraph)
