Tainted Eggs At Ground Zero Mosque With Dr. Laura's N-Word
-
Google News used to be better, but now it's not that great, and one of the reasons is that the system's been gamed by content mills. Do a search on a major news story and Associated Content, which has low-paid amateurs rewriting news items with "SEO-friendly" style, shows up ahead of the legitimate news sources that did the reporting in the first place. How do they do it? Simple: In the example they give here, in the Dr. Laura story, they just repeated the most common search term -- "Dr. Laura n-word" -- several times in the opening paragraph and surrounded it with sub-elementary-school "analysis." Presto: Top-ranked "news" item. Google HAS to fix this. (Salon)
