Let's See, Should We Buy Food For The Family Or See An A's Game?

Mayor Oscar Goodman is telling the locals that Las Vegas is the target of interest for an American League baseball team, if only they'll agree to flush... I mean, spend tax money on a domed ballpark. I assume he's talking about the Oakland A's. If the people of Vegas are crazy/stupid enough to, in a horrific economy, spend their money on a ballpark for a team that might be just using Vegas to get Oakland (or San Jose, or Fremont, or Santa Clara, or whatever other Bay Area town they're targeting today) to build them a new facility, then good luck to them. (And if they're going to just add yet more tourist taxes and thus raise the cost of staying in town when they're already experiencing a tourism downturn, they're nuts) (Las Vegas Sun)
