The More Incomprehensible, The Better

It's already been 20 years since "Twin Peaks," and co-creator Mark Frost now says that maybe his partner David Lynch was right and they should have ignored the network's insistence that the murder of Laura Palmer be solved. And, yeah, he's probably right; I watched the show back in the day and did not understand why everyone wanted that solved. I thought that missed the real point of the show, which was that the town and everyone and everything in it was just Lynchian-surreal. The point was the aura and mood, not the plot. But ABC wanted resolution, and that kind of killed the show. (Los Angeles Times)
