If The Customers Don't Pay For The CEO's Champagne, Who Will?
-
National Grid, the gas utility serving Massachusetts, wants a rate hike, a big one. The state looked into what they needed the rate hike for, and noticed that the company was passing along certain, um, expenses to customers. Expenses like private school tuition for an executive's daughters, another executive's medical bills, a trip to Obama's inauguration, Rubik's Cubes, and other stuff. That's clearly not going over well, even if it amounts to $300,000, which is a drop in the bucket for a company like that. Remember, rate hike or no, that's the kind of stuff you're paying for.
