Would Telecommuting Have Helped?

Guy goes to his bosses and says he's going to start cross-dressing at work. They fire him and make him apologize to his co-workers. (Apologize? Really? For what?) Should they have that right? What if he's formally starting the sex-change process? How about if he doesn't generally come into contact with the public? On the other hand, does an employer have the right to fire someone if it thinks that person's behavior or appearance might be disruptive? (Assuming, of course, that you can't make that determine on racial grounds) (Daily Mail)
