PROGRAMMERS WHO DARE TO STAND OUT.
ENGAGING, COMPELLING CONTENT THAT CREATES TALK AND RECALL.
CONCEPTS THAT ARE 'GOOD FOR THE LISTENER, GOOD FOR THE STATION, GOOD FOR THE CLIENT.'
UNIQUELY ENTERTAINING ON-AIR TALENT.
Together, these are the cornerstones of the lifeblood of radio, and it is this special combination that drives audience growth and revenue generation for the most successful stations on the planet.
At Absolute & Dowse, we work with some of the most creative, risk taking radio stations in the world in developing and executing groundbreaking content initiatives.
You may not have heard of us unless you caught our presentation at last year's "World Radio Summit", but you will know some of the tactics we have brought to the US Radio Market, including "The Fugitive," "2 Strangers and a Wedding," "The Lie Detector," "15 Days of Fame," "The Workplace Mole," "The Naked Wedding," "Breeders Cup," and "You only live Twice" (think Witness Protection!).
We want to share insights and ideas that we have developed over the years to help you better engage with your listeners and make your station an irreplaceable part of their lives - fast.
To us, the most important aspect of Radio is its unique ability to build a sense of immediacy and community with our audiences, and it all starts with great content and storytelling .... after all that is what X Factor is all about!
Sure, social networking has dramatically expanded the opportunity for content producers in all forms of media to reach out and interact with their audiences, but it all still comes back to content.
In fact ........ in the old days, it was "more music, less talk". Going forward it is very clearly ........ more talk (content), less music.
If there's one thing we've learned in our work with radio stations all over the world, it's that radio personalities still have a truly unique opportunity to engage in creative experimentation and to establish intimate relationships with fans that no other form of media can match.
It's called "permission to fail."
These days, though, it is tough to stand out.
In a world of shrinking timeframes and global competition, no one has the luxury of time to get the point across. We believe in cutting through this clutter with a Big Bang tactic.
BIG BANG TACTICS DISRUPT. THEY TAKE THE SPOTLIGHT AND DON'T LET IT GO.
Sometimes, it’s about ideas that are simply too outrageous, too different, too big and /or too polarizing to go unnoticed. Sometimes its just about being clever and seizing the moment.
Often it's about being illogical. It is certainly about having a dramatic, immediate and irreversible impact.
There is nothing incremental or evolutionary. Whatever the specific tactic selected, a Big Bang can’t be ignored. These ideas are intentionally polarizing.
- They must be dealt with.
- They force opinions.
So please join us each week as we share some great "theater of the mind" ideas with you and give you our unique slant on how to develop compelling on air content that turns on air talent into stars and increases revenue for your stations.
All it takes is a commitment to talent development and to giving talent the airtime and content ideas they need to shine. In the weeks and months to come, we hope to inspire some excitement and spark some great ideas at your station.
