1) What's the landscape like in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood markets like these days?
I'd say the landscape remains as diverse as it's ever been. South Florida is its own world -- a one of one!
2) This is an exciting time for you. You were just officially bumped up to PD -- congrats! What's the synergy like at Entercom/Miami?
It's an exciting time for Entercom/Miami, as we've recently become the #1 billing cluster in the market. There's much to achieve. Collectively as a team, we're focused on continuing to elevate our brands to the next level.
3) You've also just changed air shifts, moving from nights to middays. There will be some obvious lifestyle adjustments, but what will you miss most about being on the radio at night in an area where nightlife is such a huge part of the culture?
Just that ... creating and setting the vibe for a city that parties non-stop. We're Miami's PARTY station!
4) Talk about the Power Morning Show ... how do Lucy Lopez & DJ Zog set the table for the rest of the station's programming day?
They are Miami. Their attention to hyper-local detail is unmatched. Lucy is married with children, Zog is a DJ's DJ in Miami. They're the best of both worlds. My answer does them no justice. Follow them @DJZog @TheLucyLopez
5) What's the music mix like these days? What is the ideal balance for you between rhythmic and pop titles?
The magic happens between the records. How we serve our community while keeping them up to date with what's popping is key. We're the perfect mixture of rhythm and the "cool" pop. We continue to build and stay in our own lane. And we take pride in being the boutique radio station we were designed to be.
6) If budget were no object, what kind of position would you immediately add to the staff?
Immediately? A social media/interactive guru -- someone creative behind the camera lens ... a video production genius!
7) What's contesting like for Power now? Do "traditional" giveaways still work for you in 2018 (soon to be '19)?
Short answer ... yes, "traditional" giveaways still work for us. Long answer ... we love brainstorming new concepts when it comes to giveaways whether it be a P1 or a weekend promo. It's very important in 2018 to incorporate social media as much as possible. With that said, the execution of anything social media related must be simple. The simpler, the better!
8) What kind of commitment do the members of the air staff have to make in regard to social media responsibility?
Major commitment. We pride ourselves in being the most followed social media account when it comes to our competitors. Social media, especially Instagram, works hand in hand with our on-air execution. It's no longer a forced element; it happens natural in real time. @Power965 on IG look for us!
9) Who have your mentors been along the way?
I've been fortunate enough to grow under super-talented individuals. Dan Hunt. Bethany Kent. Buster Satterfield. Trust me, there are many more!
10) Who are some of your all-time favorite jocks?
My guys ... Buster Satterfield & Michael Bennett. So much knowledge and passion between the two of them!
