1. Please talk about how an internship opened the door to your career
Back in 2012 when I was working at a Nissan Dealership as a service cashier I was on my lunch break and ran into my favorite morning show on 97.5 WABD in Mobile AL! Well-known heritage station! One thing lead to another and I had lunch with the crew. A week later I was an intern and spent 2 years with the morning show and found my calling in media!
2. Where did the name ‘Gossip Greg’ come from?
Another intern named me I have to give props to Heather Bright at the time (Producer Heather) She basically told me I like to Gossip a lot and she wasn’t wrong. Good Clean Fun Gossip! <3
3. What’s it’s been like to settle in to the night show at KISS?
After our morning show was cancelled at the beginning of 2021 I was added to multiple stations for my new segment ATX DAILY “Local Austin News.” BUT having a show on NIGHTS is absolutely amazing. I get to communicate with listeners again and be LIVE AND LOCAL!
4. What role does social media play during your show and which platforms do you lean on the most?
I love to communicate with my audience via Instagram--it is the best! Listeners will let you know they are listening it’s their way of texting you. I always reply to all of my DM’s good or bad! Lets be friends Gossip_Greg
5. “Local local local” has always been radio’s mantra. As things start to open up, what plans to you have to be involved in the community?
Get back out and about... be seen at bars and restaurants and normal places again and HOSTING EVENTS. I love nothing more than enjoying Austin, TX. It’s an amazing city!
6. What is your favorite part of the job?
Communicating with the listeners and being myself loud and proud!
7. Who would be a “dream guest” to have on your show?
TAYLOR SWIFT 1st Miley Cyrus 2nd Kim Kardashian 3rd.
8. What's the most unbelievable on-air bit that you were allowed to do?
One time when I was an intern, I had to be blindfolded all like every Friday for the Mystery BOX. We would take turns on the show and you would NEVER know what’s in the box! I am traumatized now because I had a box with a snake in it. Lucky for me it was a good snake. If that exists. Yikes! I will never forget.
9. What was your favorite station to listen to when you were a kid? Jock(s)?
97.5 WABB and 95 KSJ Mobile, AL and luckily, now I’m best friends with some of the people that I grew up listening to! Plus, they are great mentors! Matt McCoy WABB, Glen Johnson QTIP WABB, Shelby Mitchell and Dan Brennan 95KSJ are all amazing talents!
10. Who were your mentors? Who would you say has influenced your career the most?
Matt McCoy WABB Alumni, Shelby Mitchell 95 KSJ, Billy The Kidd Former Morning Show co-host 96.7 KISSFM and my great friend “Radio Genius” Rachel Ryan formerly “Blondie”…I was her intern on WABD in 2012

With the Frank Erwin Center at your disposal and an unlimited budget, which 3-5 acts would you pull together for a ‘welcome back’ show for KISS’ listeners?
Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Miley Cyrus, Meg Tha Stallion, City Girls, Justin Bieber, Ava Max -- To name a few.... Luke Combs and Kayce Musgraves also if we wanna throw some Country in the mix! It is ATX after all!
