Please outline your radio career so far:
WAXY/Miami
KJYO/Oklahoma City
WFLZ/Tampa
WABB/Mobile
Most recently, swing at one of the best CHR's in the country, WWWQ/Atlanta1 How would you describe your first radio gig?
It was the best exhaustion I could ever ask for.
2 What led you to a career in radio?
Psychosis!
3 What's a typical workday like for you?
After making out with the receptionist? In a nutshell: I check e-mail, check-in with Jeri, my PD, when he gets off the air at 10, start returning phone calls, schedule music, then work on various projects. Do my show prep, the airshift, then tie up any loose ends before leaving for the day.
4 According to your MySpace page, you're going back to school for Business Administration. Where do you see yourself in five years?
Right here at KISS. School would be nice, if I had the time, but I will soon. Not to mention the girls at UF are hotness like whoa!
5 What was your favorite station to listen to when you were a kid?
"America's Mega Station" Y-100 Miami!!
6 Ever go back and listen to your early airchecks?
Of course! Followed immediately by downing a bottle of Grey Goose.
7 What music do you listen to when you're not working?
Older stuff. 70's, 80's, 90's. Anything from R&B to older Pop, Jazz, even Sinatra.
8 What is the one truth that has held constant throughout your career?
You're never finished learning. I'm always learning new things, and looking forward to exploring new and better ways to improve my craft. I love what I do, and can't see myself doing anything else! Well ... umm ... how much money do you think those guys holding cardboard signs on highway off-ramps make? Anybody??
9 What advice you would give people new to the business?
You gotta love it! ALL of it, including the "work side" of the business, and not be in it to be a celebrity, get free CDs, or laid (of course, the latter is always a plus).
10 We've got the technology for HD 'sidechannel' stations. What do we do with it?
To compete with iPods, Satellite, burned CD's, etc., we need to give OUR listeners more choices, combining their favorite music with LOCAL info and entertainment, while providing the same sound quality other medium gives them. With this new technology, it gives us that competitive edge we are losing with terrestrial radio.
Bonus Questions
What is your prized piece of radio memorabilia?
It's a toss up between the picture of me and Jessica Simpson's 'girls,' or me and Alicia Keys' 'bootay.'
