1 Please outline your radio career stops so far:
My stops haven't been as "impressive" as all the positions I've had. In 6 1/2 years, I've done afternoons, the morning show for 3 1/2 years, as well as sales, AM PD, FM PD and Sales Manager.
2 How would you describe your first radio gig?
I was lucky. I started doing afternoons. Never had to do weekends or overnights. I guess I just knew the right people or maybe I was living right or...
3 What led you to a career in radio?
My buddy in college said, "Dude, you don't have to take any more math classes if you go into Broadcasting!" The rest is history.
4 Beautiful country in Idaho Falls, but how would you describe the radio landscape up there?
It's definitely conservative. We sometimes have to edit the radio edits. All that aside, I feel fortunate to work for the "big dog" in the market. East Idaho loves us, and that makes it awesome to work here.
5 What is your favorite part of the job?
I love the impact we have on people's every day lives. They wake up to us, they laugh with us, they laugh at us, they hate us sometimes, and hopefully they feel they know us like we're family.
6 What's one thing that would surprise many people to learn about you?
I've been married for almost 9 years, but have no kids (none in the works either)
7 What was your favorite station to listen to when you were a kid?
It used to be Kiss 96 in Idaho Falls. When they went Country, I went to Z103 (where I am now!).
8 Do you have a favorite hobby outside of radio?
I love being active and spending time outside biking, working out, golfing, traveling. But nothing too extreme.
9 What music do you listen to when you're not working?
I really like Jazz. I don't know a lot about it, but it's on in my car 75% of the time.
10 What is the one truth that has held constant throughout your career?
Never make a major decision on vacation. Things are always "grand" on vacation - no worries, pockets full of cash, you know. You're head is never in the right place for a major decision if you're on vacation.
Bonus Questions
What ringtone do you have on your cel?
Pretty Ricky, "Your Body," "Mo' Money Mo' Problems," by Notorious BIG and "How Many Licks" by Lil' Kim.
