MAROON 5
Oct 8, 2019
Maroon 5 are a Los Angeles based Pop/Rock band, whose members include Adam Lavine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden, James Valentine, Matt Flynn, PJ Morton and Sam Farrar.
The original lineup of the band dates to 1994, while the members were still in high school and calling themselves Kara's Flowers. Two albums were released under their original name and, having received little response, the label dropped the band. The members returned to college, and regrouped in 2001 as Maroon 5.
The first album released as Maroon 5 was 2002's Songs About Jane. The album reached Platinum status and yielded four U.S. singles. They've won three Grammy awards including their first for Best New Artist at the 2005 ceremonies.
To date, Maroon 5 has sold over 56 million albums, 328 million singles worldwide and earned Gold and Platinum certifications in more than 35 countries.
The music video for "Sugar," from the 2015 album V, became the first clip to hit 3+ billion views. "Girls Like You" from their last album, 2017's Red Pill Blues, earned over 818 million Spotify streams and over 2.2 billion YouTube/VEVO views and is notably the most-watched video on VEVO for 2018.
"Memories" is the first single to come from their upcoming 7th album. It became the band's 22nd song to land in the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100.
