Singer/actress Sofia Carson was born Sofia Daccarett Char in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
After graduation, she attend the In Motion Dance Studio in Miami, and competed across the United States. She later moved to California, where she went to college at UCLA.
She began her acting career in 2014 on the Disney Channel program Austin & Ally. She also appeared on MTV's program, Faking It. She landed a starring role as Evie on Disney Channel's movie Descendants.
By 2015, she began working on her first album, and released its first single "Love Is The Name" in April 2016. She made numerous TV performances over the following years. In 2018, the singer provided vocals to several EDM hits and she also returned as Evie in the Descendants 2 sequel.
Her performance in the TV series, Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, landed her a Teen Choice Award nomination for Choice Drama TV Actress.
In 2019 she was back as Evie in Descendants 3 and appeared in the Netflix film, Feel The Beat, in 2020. That same year, she was named global ambassador of Revlon and released the Revlon x Sofia Carson collection of beauty products. She was recently named UNICEF's newest US Ambassador, while she's set to star, produce and write the soundtrack for the upcoming film, Purple Hearts.
Carson's latest release "Fool's Gold" was produced by Grammy winning duo Stargate and Jeff Jones. The singer has said in interviews that the song "is the beginning of a story I'm sharing with the world. We meet a girl who's at the cusp of falling heart-first into a love that feels too good to be true. Before she falls, she can't seem to quiet that voice in her head that keeps singing 'are you for real or Fool's Gold?
