Adele

Two years after claiming a Grammy for Best New Artist, British soul singer Adele is following up her debut album, 19, with a brand new set, titled 21.
The 22-year-old singer/songwriter announced the album's February 22nd release date via Columbia Records. Adele revealed the album's simplistic black and white artwork and talk about coming up with the title.
"The whole reason I called my first album 19 was about cataloging what happened to me then and who I was then, like a photo album you see the progression and changes in a person throughout the years," she wrote. "I tried to think of other album titles but couldn't come up with anything that represented the album properly, I kept swerving 21 thinking it was obvious. But why not be obvious?"
21's first single will be "Rolling In The Deep," a track Adele describes as a "dark bluesy gospel disco tune."
Adele revealed to Spinner, her second album '21' is the deeply personal by-product of drunken diary entries, through which the London born singer-songwriter comes to terms with her own flaws.
Inspired by her relationship and the aftermath of a painful break-up with a former lover, the undeniable emotion in Adele's performance stands on its own. Admitting that some of the songs from the new album will simply be too painful for her to perform in the future, bares her soul in bluesy tunes like 'Someone Like You' and 'Rolling in the Deep.'
In Adele's own humble eyes, the new album serves as "cheap therapy" for the artist herself, but will hopefully also give hope to her fans suffering form heartbreak and love hangovers. With a voice that will knock you off your feet and a candidness that will bring you to tears, this girl needs no bells and whistles, her talent speaks for itself.
Adele also talked about the new inspiration she has recently found across the pond in American musical traditions like Country and Bluegrass, which she plans to study up on going forward with her musical career, an unexpected career that the singer describes as an "out-of-body experience."
"Rolling In The Deep" impacts Top 40 on March 8th.
