Mar 14, 2011
Willow Smith has released the second single, "21st Century Girl", Which impacts Top 40 on March 15th, and is now preparing to go on tour with Canadian singer Justin Bieber on his 13 date tour of the UK beginning on March 4th. The tour includes three dates at London's O2 Arena.
Produced by Twin & Alke, "Girl" is a forward-thinking piece of electro-pop that features more fleshed-out production than "Whip My Hair", (which has rocked its way through the music world), but the same sense of confidence from the young singer. "I set the boundaries, the rules don't own me/I'm living life on the edge, I choose my path," Smith sings in the second verse.
"Willow says, I'm very excited and it is a pleasure to go on stage withJustin. I will learn a lot from him. I love to watch his shows! They are very energetic and he uses the whole scene". She also recognizes that she won't forget about the details, especially the costumes: "What I wear depends on the event and also depending on how I feel on that day. If I'm sad, I add purple on my costumes".
Willow is now working on an album, which will launch with Jay-Z's record label, Roc Nation.
"When I met him in Japan I was so tired because I was hanging out the night before and had been dancing and having fun and I didn't know we had to meet Jay-Z the next morning so I went to sleep at, like, 4 am, and I fell asleep in the meeting," the young pop star said.
Willow Smith swears she didn't miss anything important. "I had [dark] glasses and so I was, like, nodding along." Willow Smith admitted. "I only missed the parts where he was explaining to my mom and dad what we're gonna be doing...stuff like that-although I guess that's important."
Willow, daughter of A-list celebs Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith, is a little girl who knows where she is going, right or wrong . "We got to hear all the songs they had for me, we have a lot of bombs to drop. It's gonna be like 'boom'."
