Foster The People
Jun 27, 2011
Los Angeles based trio, Foster The People, celebrate the release of Torches via Columbia Records/StarTime (May 24th) with a #8 sales debut this week. The band, whose single "Pumped Up Kicks" impacted Hot AC on June 13th, will mark the success of their full-length, debut with over 33,000 albums sold in it's first week. The band made appearances on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Last Call with Carson Daly, KROQ's Kevin and Bean and Loveline last week in support of Torches, which critics are calling the "album of the summer."
With a sold-out summer tour underway, the band are proud to announce they will be back this fall with another round of headlining dates. Kicking off with a performance at Austin City Limits, trailing across North America and back, the band will hit some new cities including Orlando, Indianapolis, Fargo and more.
The OC Register raved that the 8,000 people at the band's Coachella performance earlier this year "came away highly satisfied." They played Sasquatch and will hit the festival circuit playing Lollapalooza, Outsidelands, and Glastonbury. With songs as strong as the ones on Torches, Foster can rest assured that his audiences will be quite astounded.
The band consists of: Mark Foster, Cubbie Fink, and Mark Pontius.
