Gym Class Heroes
Jul 25, 2011
Gym Class Heroes, known for their hit Cupid's Chokehold are back with a new single featuring Maroon 5's Adam Levine titled Stereo Hearts from their upcoming album The Papercut Chronicles II.
The group formed when Travie McCoy met drummer Matt McGinley in high school and decided to form a band. After the addition of guitarist Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo and bassist Eric Roberts, the group was signed to Fueled By Ramen and Decaydance Records, on which they released their debut album, The Papercut Chronicles. That album set the Heroes on their course for commercial success, which arguably peaked in 2006-2007 after the alternative hip-hop band released their third album, As Cruel as School Children. After a not-as-successful fourth album in 2008 and a solo project from frontman Travis McCoy in 2010, it appeared as though there was hope for longtime fans when it was announced that the band's fifth album would be a follow-up to their second, musically. Although it is titled The Papercut Chronicles II and McCoy did previously state that "it's definitely going back to the essence of Gym Class Heroes,"
Gym Class Heroes are currently touring the US this summer on the Vans Warped Tour.
