Joe Jonas
Aug 8, 2011
Joe Jonas, most famously known for his collaboration with brother Nick and Kevin in the pop band Jonas Brothers, is now focusing on his solo projects. The Jonas Brothers have had a very successful career despite being so young. It's About Time, the brothers' first album, was released on August 8, 2006. According to the band's manager, it was only a "limited release" of a little over 50,000 copies. Because Sony was not interested in further promoting the band, the Jonas Brothers then considered switching labels. The band was ultimately dropped by Columbia Records in early 2007.
After shortly being without a label, the Jonas Brothers signed with Hollywood Records in February 2007. Around the same time, the brothers began appearing in GAP commercials for Baby Bottle Pops, singing the jingle. Their self-titled second album, Jonas Brothers, was released on August 7, 2007. It reached number five on the Billboard Hot 200 chart in its first week. The Jonas Brothers' third studio album, A Little Bit Longer, was released in the United States on August 12, 2008 and reached #1 on the Billboard 200. On June 16, 2009 The Jonas Brothers' fourth studio album, and third release under Hollywood Records entitled Lines, Vines, and Trying Times was released. The album yet again reached number 1 on the Billboard 200 with 247,000 copies sold.
Joe announced on May 19th 2010 that he was taking a break from the band and releasing a solo album and almost one year later Joe announced that the first single from his debut album, Fast Life, which is set to be released October 11th, is titled "See No More" featuring R&B singer Chris Brown. The single was released on June 3 and is impacting radio stations now. Joe was recently nominated for a Teen Choice award while the video for the song has racked up nearly 5 million views on YouTube and VEVO. Joe was Details Magazine's April 2011 cover story and is currently one of the cover stories for Paper Magazine's Summer Music issue. He made his U.S. TV debut as a solo artist on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" and his European TV solo artist performance debut on "The Paul O'Grady Show". He has been promoting the single and upcoming album extensively throughout Europe and North America this summer and recently announced he is joining Britney Spears on her upcoming Femme Fatale international tour.
