"Kiss You" is a song by English-Irish boy band One Direction from their second studio album, Take Me Home (2012). It was released by Sony Music Entertainment on February 8, 2012, as the second single from the album in the United States and third elsewhere. Composed by Kristoffer Fogelmark, Kristian Lundin, Albin Nedler, Savan Kotecha, Shellback, Carl Falk and Rami Yacoub, the track is an uptempo, upbeat power pop song which features electronic effects, an abrasive hook, and a "na na na" breakdown. The lyrical content revolves around the protagonist's infatuation with a significant other.
The song received general acclaim from music critics, many of whom considered it the album's highlight and praised it as instantly appealing. The track became the group's sixth top-ten hit in Ireland and the United Kingdom. In addition, "Kiss You" attained top-forty positions on the singles charts of Australia, Belgium (Flanders), Belgium (Wallonia), Canada, Denmark, New Zealand, the Netherlands and South Korea. The single peaked at number 46 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and had sold over 200,000 copies in the United States as of January 2013.
The single's accompanying music video was directed by Vaughan Arnell, who had previously directed One Direction's music videos for "Live While We're Young" and "Little Things". The clip depicts the band shooting different scenes via agreen screen, including scenes reminiscent of iconic music videos of songs such as The Beach Boys' "Surfer Girl", Elvis Presley's "Jailhouse Rock" and "Blue Hawaii" and Rammstein's "Mein Land", among others. The group performed the track on both the UK and US versions of The X Factor.
