Pop duo, Megan & Liz are 'internet famous' sisters from Michigan, and somehow they have managed to get their hands on a Max Martin, Shellback and Savan Kotecha song. Their new single, 'Release You' was released stateside on June 4th and it just appeared on UK iTunes.
As one of Billboard's "21 Under 21: Hottest Minors in Music", Megan & Liz have racked up over 239 million views on YouTube as well as over 1.2 million subscribers. The duo regularly trends top 5 worldwide on Twitter, a testament to their passionate social media following.
In 2011, they had a cameo in Justin Bieber's documentary movie, Never Say Never. One of their videos appeared in a fan montage during the movie. They're first own music video for their original song "Happy Never After" released in May 2011 and the second video "Rest of you" came out in June. Megan & Liz scored big in 2012, with their Top 30 chart debut "Bad For Me" (written with Boys Like Girls member, Martin Johnson) which has recently been used in a commercial for Audi. "Bad For Me" became a Top 30 Pop hit in Mediabase.
Megan & Liz have recently teamed up with Macy's, becoming the face of American Rag. Currently, they can be seen starring in the Macy's Gr8 American Road Trip web series as part of the summer-long Macy's American Icons campaign, with new webisodes each Tuesday. The girls can be heard weekly on 100 Top 40 radio stations across America with their segment called, "Next In The Biz with Megan & Liz" during the syndicated program Saturday Night On Line. In fact, on the night they debuted their single with SNOL host Romeo, it became a #1 worldwide Twitter topic.
The sky is the limit for these ladies, as they will be featured in the September issue Seventeen Magazine and their first headline tour: American Rag on Tour Presents: Megan And Liz, from August 8th - September 17th. Look for their debut album later this summer.
