Imagine Dragons
Sep 24, 2013

Imagine Dragons is an American alternative rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada. They gained exposure after the release of their debut studio album, Night Visions, in September 2012. Since then, they have gone on a world tour, and gained exposure on major late night shows like The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Billboard magazine named them "The Breakthrough Band of 2013", and Rolling Stone magazine called their single "Radioactive" "the biggest rock hit of the year."
In 2008, lead singer Dan Reynolds met drummer Andrew Tolman at Brigham Young University, where they were both students. Tolman recruited longtime high school friend Daniel Wayne "Wing" Sermon, who had recently returned to his hometown of American Fork, Utah from the Berklee College of Music.
Sermon then recruited another Berklee music student, Ben McKee, to join the band, to complete the lineup. The members lived together in Las Vegas, the hometown of Dan Reynolds, where the band recorded and released their first three EPs.
The band released two EPs titled Imagine Dragons EP and Hell and Silence EP in 2010, both recorded at Battle Born Studios, in Las Vegas, NV. They returned to the studio in 2011. Another EP, It's Time, was made before they signed a record deal.
"Demons" serves as the album's overall fifth single and was released as the third single from Night Visions in the United States. "Demons" is an indie rock ballad with lyrics speaking of a protagonist warning a significant other of his flaws. The song was released to contemporary hit radio stations on September 17th.
