Haim is an American rock band hailing from Los Angeles, California. The band consists of sisters Este Arielle, Danielle Sari and Alana Mychal Haim along with drummer Dash Hutton, son of Danny Hutton and previously a member of the bands Wires on Fire and Slang Chicken.
Most frequently compared to Fleetwood Mac, Haim's sound has been described as "nu-folk-meets-nineties-R&B" and "music that sounds like it was written on a lakeside retreat attended by Stevie Nicks, John Waite and En Vogue". The band played at the 2013 Glastonbury festival, earned a top ranking in BBC's Sound of 2013 poll, and later signed with Jay-Z's Roc Nation management group and are now signed with Columbia Records.
"The Wire" is the fourth single from American rock band Haim's debut studio album Days Are Gone (2013), released in the United Kingdom on September 22, 2013. The song peaked at number 16 in the UK Singles Chart, and at number 25 in the Billboard Hot Rock Songs. It also went platinum in Australia. The song ranked highly at number 6 on Pitchfork Media Top 100 Tracks of 2013 list. It was number 16 on Rolling Stone magazine's 100 Best Songs of 2013 list. A music video to accompany the release of "The Wire" was first released onto YouTube on August 12, 2013 at a total length of four minutes and fourteen seconds. The video features an appearance from comedian Jorma Taccone.
