10 Questions with ... Chris "Bam" Morrison

BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:

I started in radio in 2002 working in the promotions dept. for KHHT (Hot 92 Jamz) and KIIS (102.7 KIIS FM). At that time we were Clear Channel now iHeartmedia in Los Angeles . I also had an on air overnight weekend shift on KHHT. I became the Afternoon Drive Personalty and Production Director for KWIE (Wild 96.1)/Riverside in 2004. I enjoyed working at XMOR (Blazin 98.9)/San Diego. I was Production Director and joined Chis Loos on the morning show. I worked a couple years at KKUU/Palm Springs but, for the past five years I've been here at KCAQ (Q959). Now I do afternoons and I'm Production and Imaging Assistant.

1. What got you into radio?

I started DJing in middle school. I was a huge fan of music and radio, in general . After graduating from high school, I went to the Academy of Radio and Television and from there, LA radio!

2. What did you dream of becoming when you were a kid?

I wanted to be a school teacher or in the movies doing martial arts.

3. You're a Southern California native and have worked in San Diego, as well as the Los Angeles area. Which do you prefer?

LA all day!!! I do love just about everything about San Diego, except the Padres . lol

4. Dodgers or Angels, Lakers or Clippers, Kings or Ducks?

I'm a Dodgers, Lakers, Kings type of guy.

5. What would probably surprise most people about you?

I'm a second-degree black belt and I don't like chocolate.

6. Who are/were some of your radio mentors?

I've looked up to a lot of people in radio and been mentored by a few, even if they didn't know it. A few are Chris Loos of KQIE, Brian "Big Bear" Davis, Julio G, Anthony Acampora, Ben "DJ Complex" Romero and many more.

7. If you weren't in radio, what do you think you'd be doing professionally?

I'd be in the entertainment business for sure but not sure what I'd be doing, though.

8. What do you like to do in spare time you have?

With a fulltime job and a house full of kids, it's hard to find spare time. When I do, I enjoy them showing me new music or catching ESPN on TV .

9. If you could be on any TV reality show or game show, which would you want to be on?

I'd LOVE to be on Wheel of Fortune or the Amazing Race

If you had to eat one type of meal everyday for a month, what would it be?

Mexican, for sure!

Is it an all-expenses paid one? I love seeing new places. A beach would have to be there and/or a casino!
