BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:
WRXW/Jackson MS, KQCH/Omaha NE, WNRG/Milwaukee WI
1. What got you into radio?
They have a radio station at my high school. All you had to do was take a class and BOOM! Me and my super sweet CD collection were in the ear spaces of DuPage County. Lucky them.
2. What did you dream of becoming when you were a kid?
A marine biologist/doctor/science teacher My BS is in Biology/secondary education with a minor in chemistry...so radio was the obvious career choice.
3. You're from Chicago. When/why did you leave?
I left after college when Johnny Maze plucked me out of the masses to start my first full time job in radio. Still not sure if it was scarier for him or me.
4. Milwaukee is home now. What do you think would surprise people that don't know Milwaukee?
It's got a lot of the concerts, sporting events, festivals, bar/restaurants and the general good times of a bigger city, without as much traffic or parallel parking.
5. What do you like the most about living and working in Milwaukee?
It's super close to where I'm from, and I've always wanted to work in this city. Also, being walking distance from the lake is pretty much the bees knees.
6. What do you miss most about Chicago? Do you get back to visit much?
I miss being able to wear the colors green and or gold without people assuming things. DA BEARS!
7. If you weren't in radio, what do you think you'd be doing professionally?
Making more money?! Nah! ummm...probably teaching the youth of America ('MERICA!) or something in the medical field. And let's be honest, it's probably to everybody's benefit that things worked out the way they did.
8. We know your radio job keeps you very busy but what do you like to do in spare time you have?
Maintaining my Thumb Wrestling Champion status (yeah, I've got the trophy to prove it), working on the long putt of my mini golf game, crushing in bar dice, and taking my dog, Dexter, with me everywhere that's acceptable (and some that are not...no regrets)
9. If you could be on any TV reality show or game show, which would you want to be on?
Family Feud...reaching out to super distant relatives is fine, yeah?
10. Where would you like to be personally and professionally, say in five years?
Happy...which can look like a lot of different things, and I'm okay with that.
Bonus Questions
Hypothetical question...If you were getting married in two months and you could have any group or singer perform at your reception, who would you choose? (keep in mind that they'd be required to perform traditional reception songs like Electric Slide and The Chicken Dance...)
Nickelback...but they're probably in pretty high demand these days. Chicago band Lucky Boys Confusion or Weezer...especially if Rivers was going to have a few costume changes.
If you had to eat one type of meal everyday for a month, what would it be?
Anything I can dip/dunk/slather/cover in liquid cheese. Literally. Anything.
