10 Questions with ... Christine Peters

BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:

I worked in college organizing shows for the campus and had my own radio show. I moved down to Florida from Pittsburgh to intern with WILD 94.1. After my internship, I got hired with the station to do research and part-time street promotions. I then became full-time as Orlando's assistant in June of 2006. As Orlando's assistant, I became familiar with the record labels and the people that worked for them, building relationships. From there, I started to learn how to program music. In 2009, I was named MD and in May 2015, I added APD stripes.

1. What got you into radio?

I've always loved music, dancing, and singing. I felt radio was the connect to all things music-wise, so I figured I would start there. However, I ended up loving it and staying!

2. What did you dream of becoming when you were a kid?

A Fly Girl or a Marine Biologist lol

3. How did you end up in Tampa?

My father moved down here when I graduated from high school. After college, I had the opportunity to intern at WPLJ in NYC or WiLD in Tampa. I went with the beach, hip hop, and a free place to stay.

4. What would probably surprise most people about living and working in Tampa?

There's a lot of crazy people from all different places. They call it the melting pot. No one is really from Florida.

5. Your son is 6 years old going on 16. What do you think is the most important thing you can teach him?

Manners, Respect, Loyalty, and Appreciation.

6. Who are some of your son, Christian's favorite artists?

Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, Migos, and Silento...lol

7. You've worked closely with WiLD 94.1 PD Orlando Davis for many years. How has your relationship with him changed over the years?

I really hasn't. We both have and always have had a mutual respect for each other. Although he may not admit it, since we've worked together every day for the past 12 years, sometimes we think alike.

8. If you could be on any TV reality show or game show, which would you want to be on?

Love and Hip Hop Miami, but I would just want to be an extra in the background at the clubs and bars.

9. Hypothetical question...If you were getting married in two months and you could have any group or singer perform at your reception, who would you choose? (keep in mind, they'd have to do some traditional wedding reception songs like The Chicken Dance and Electric Slide) l

10. Another hypothetical question...You need a record promotion rep to babysit Christian and be the MD at WiLD for two weeks. Who would you pick?

CSI Miami...the show ended 10 years ago but they still show re-runs.
