10 Questions with ... Brittany Gonzalez

BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:

I started as a radio intern in college at Florida Gulf Coast University with 105.5 The Beat and loved it!! Moved to St. Pete to get more experience and became a board operator and part-time jock doing overnights and weekends! I moved again when a slot for The Freakshow (mornings) opened up and here I am now!

1. What got you into radio?

Weirdos are welcome here. It's the most inviting industry to be uniquely and weirdly, you. That's liberating! Plus the community involvement that keeps you connected and grounded to this thing we call life and the concert hookups!

2. What did you dream of becoming when you were a kid?

According to a book I filled in as a child, I wanted to be a pizza hut, but then I got my life together by middle school and figured out I wanted to be a part of a talk show. I grew up listening to a local morning show, (The Freakshow) and that's when the dream came together.

3. What would you like to do better as an air personality in 2023?

Put on makeup before 6am

4. What grabs your attention on TikTok or Instagram? (What sucks you down the rabbit hole?)

Britney Spears under eye makeup and spins. Gators (even though I'm from Florida), Julia Fox's life advice who I use as a free life coach, Jennifer Lopez forcing Ben Affleck to be social.

5. What would probably surprise most people about living and working in SWFL?

The lack of strip clubs...We have 3 and lost one to the hurricane. Very sad.

6. If you weren't in radio, what do you think you'd be doing professionally?

Tik tok challenges mostly or Only Fans. Feet stuff only though.

7. Got any hobbies?

Solo dancing in the mirror at home, judging the real housewives lives with wine in hand and makeup sessions!

8. If you could be on any TV reality show or game show, which would you want to be on?

I'd be out first round on a game show, so I'm going with The Real Housewives of New Jersey or NYC or Miami.

9. What reality show yields the best show prep?

Fox News

10. Who were/are some of your mentors, both in radio and outside of radio?

First Lady Niki, DJ Quest, DJ Ekin, Johnny B! They are gems to this radio industry! Also, Cardi B. She doesn't know it yet, but she mentors me.

If you had to eat one type of meal every day for a month, what would it be?

Sushi because there's sake, too!

You are alone and stuck on a deserted island. You have a shit-ton of batteries and an old school portable entertainment center featuring a DVD/CD player. You only have 3 movies and 3 albums for the next 3 months. What 3 movies and cds would you want on hand?

3 albums are my queen, Selena with her album "Amor Prohibido", Bad Bunny (Un Verano Sin Ti) to keep the litty vibes, and 2Pac (All Eyez On Me) for the days I have to thug it out on the Island trying to spear fish and make fires.

3 movies: Finding Nemo, Pretty Woman and Bridesmaids.
