WRED/Portland, ME1. What was your last non-radio gig?
Hosting bikini contests for Hawaiian Tropic in Daytona.
2. Why radio?
Because the fortune teller down the beach told me I had a voice that needed to be heard and that she saw money trees all around me. Now, I'm not sure where the hell all those money trees are but atl east I still get my voice heard. So if any of you run into her...tell her I want a refund.
3. Think back...what stands out the most about your first few days at WRED?
I was originally hired to do mornings at WRED so at the time it was "do my four, and out the door". I was on the beach by 11 doing show prep, of course. Lets just say I think I remember where the beach is now...good thing I have GPS.
4. How has your work day as a PD changed over the last five years?
The job title has grown to include much more operational type duties. If it needs to get done, I get it done.
5. What secret about Buzz Bradley will surprise even those that know you well?
I'm a die hard foodie and semi-pro gourmet....from garden to plate, I'm on it!
6. You've been the PD at WRED for quite a while. What excites you everyday when you come in to work?
I love the fact that I work in small market, independent radio, in a beautiful part of the country. I didn't always feel this way. When I was beginning my career, the drive was certainly for the major markets, and the hustle and bustle of the big city. However, over time I have come to see the value of working in this industry on the smaller scale.
7. If you could appear as a contestant on the TV reality show of your choosing, which would it be?
I kind of like the one where I'd get stranded on the beaches of Thailand for about 20 years. Yea! Book me on that one!
8. Are you an NBA fan?
I love basketball. I am a huge Boston Celtics fan, always have been! To see them clinch the championship this year was amazing. Really, it was better than sex!
9. What do you see as the biggest challenge facing radio today?
Generation Y .... I could write a book on this...so just in case...I'll stop with that.
10. What song, in rotation now, always seems to make you want to smile when you hear it on the station?
Shawty Putt - That Baby Don't look Like Me. I smile every time I hear it!
