1. What was your last non-Industry job?
Supermarket Bakery Clerk (stop laughing)
2. What got you interested in Radio?
Initially I wanted to get into television production, I went to a broadcasting school where you get to see both aspects, radio and TV. Radio seemed like more fun, so I decided to pursue it.
3. What was the biggest reason you returned to KUUU?
It was one of those things where I didn't know what I had until it was gone. I had a lot good times here, made a lot of friends, most of them are in different markets now, but I just missed the overall vibe of the station and the city. Don't get me, wrong I do miss programming, but I knew I'd be happy returning to SALT LAKE CITY.
4. Let's face it, SALT LAKE CITY is just not synonymous with Hip Hop. What's the club vibe like in the city?
It's funny, I talked to people in other cities including friends and family and when they come out here they're surprised to see how passionate these people are about hip-hop, we're in the clubs 3-4 nights a week and every night, wherever we're at it's hoppin'. It's still frustrating that some of the big acts don't come here, but I think within the next five years, Salt Lake won't be as overlooked.
5. What aspect of programming do you NOT miss?
Industry politics
6. Where do you see yourself in five years?
I defintely want to get back into programming, possibly an Afternoon/APD/MD Position would make me a happy camper.
7. Who do you consider to be your mentor(s)?
Everybody that I've come across in the last eight years in this business has been some type of an inspiration and help in my career.
8. It's midnight on SATURDAY night in SLC. Where do we go to find you?
Depending on which week it is. I'm either at our Saturday Night club gig, or I'm at home watching re-runs of Married With Children.
9. In 2007, what area of your "game" do you want to improve?
I'm always looking for ways to step-up my on-air skills, I also need to get better at following through on things. Sometimes, I'll come up with great ideas for my show, or a promotion and never end up doing it. My friend and former PD, ZAC DAVIS, used to tell me to get a planner. I should've been listening!
10. You find a magic lamp and a genie grants you three wishes for your station.not you, personally. What are your three wishes?
- More Coverage (although we recently started streaming),
- to be # 1 in the market.
-get rid of any negative assumptions advertisers may have about our station and our listeners.. We're not all gangsters!Bonus Questions
Bonus #1. A freak gravitational shift has added three hours to everyday. What would you do with those extra three hours?
Probably spend more time with my two boys.
