1. What was your last non-radio job?
I was a teacher for Fresno Unified School District. While I was first starting out in radio, I was attending the Credentialing Program at FRESNO STATE. The crossroads came when I was offered a teaching job/head track coach position at my old High School in FREMONT. At first I took the job, but my general manager at the time talked me out of it and I stayed with radio.
2. What's been the highlight of your career to date?
Becoming Program Director at B-95. After having started out as a parttimer years ago, to now being the Program Director, to me, is quite an accomplishment.
3. In addition to being PD, you host the morning show. What's your favorite aspect of being on-air?
Two things really. One, the opportunity to be creative on the air. A job is so much more fun when you can continually be creative and try new things. Two, the interaction with the listeners. Radio is really all about the listeners and being on the air keeps you in constant contact with them.
4. You've done sports play-by-play…do you see yourself returning to it down the line?
I would love to. I am a huge football fan, and if I ever had the opportunity to call football games, that would be great.
Pick a spouse…any spouse:
Since I am currently engaged, I would have to say my fiancee, LUPE.
6. Who do you consider your mentor(s)?
MICHAEL MARTIN, E. CURTIS JOHNSON, MARK ADAMS and JV.
7. A freak gravitational shift has added three hours to everyday. What would you do with those extra three hours?
Go back to school. I love to learn. As a matter of fact, one thing I like about my job now is that I learn new things on the time.
8. What's the worst and best part about living in FRESNO?
The best thing about living in FRESNO is that there is no traffic. I have a 15 minute commute. The worst part about living in FRESNO is the heat in the summertime. Last summer we went about two months straight with triple digits.
9. If you were to leave Radio today and you could choose any other occupation, what would it be?
I think I would be a Television play-by-play announcer for the UFC. I love Ultimate Fighting.
10. Which new artists do you expect to still be playing in five years?
KEYSHIA COLE, T-PAIN and NE-YO
Bonus Questions
Sushi and sake or Pizza and beer?
A very tough call, cause I love Japanese Food, but also love Pizza. Plus, I'm not a big drinker. So how about you give me the Sushi and Pizza and you keep the sake and beer?
