Middays 2004- Present1. What was your last non-Industry job?
I worked at the Plus Size clothing store, Torrid, to get the 50% employee discount. But then I remembered why I got a job in radio…I hate dressing up for work!
2. What got you interested in Radio?
Honestly, I wanted some easy college credits. My girl told me about working at a radio station as an intern and you get college credit plus free concert tickets and CDs (that was heaven to an 18 year old). After interning I became hooked and became the biggest radio dork.
3. What's the last thing you do to prep for your show?
I download artist audio interview clips to play throughout my show and always continue to check for the latest entertainment news and gossip to share and entertain the masses of hip hop.
4. If you weren't doing midday's at KXJM, what do you think you'd be doing professionally right now?
Working for my dad's company as a shipping consultant and listening to the radio wishing I were on it!
5. It's 11:45 on a Saturday night in Portland…where do we go to find you?
On my third shot of Grey Goose on the rocks with a lime at any club I can get into for free and not stand in line out in the rain.
6. How can you tell when you've had a particularly good show?
I continue to get emails or phone calls about a bit or phone topic a day or two after the show, that's always a great feeling!
7. Where do you see yourself in five years?
Hopefully continuing on my pathway to success and working on a successful top market morning show and progress into programming duties. Also, I hope to pursue more voice work as well.
8.. Who do you consider to be your communication mentor(s)?
My PD, MARK ADAMS, I call him my "Radio Dad" he's always giving me good advice and I know I can always go to him for problem solving and inspiration. I also have to shout-out ALEXA "The Girl Next Door", I remember listening to her and wanting to sound just like her.
9. Taking a look at your career to date…has radio been everything you thought it would be?
Radio has changed so much since I started in 99. I really don't know what to expect anymore.
10. Who plays Kristina in a HBO series about your life? Who plays Mark Adams?
Probably RICKY LAKE or ANGELINA JOLIE in a fat suit. Mark Adams is a tough one…I think he could easily make a cameo appearance and he would be the new NAPOLEON DYNAMITE phenomenon with spikey wigs and black solider boot costume accessories available at SPENCER'S during Halloween.
Bonus Questions
A freak gravitational shift has added three hours to everyday. What would you do with those extra three hours?
Go to the gym and stop bitching that I don't have time for it!
