10 Questions with ... Booker

BRIEF CAREER SYNOPSIS:

WKQI/DETROIT-Intern, worked my way up to board-op and eventually weekend overnight shifts, KFTZ/IDAHO FALLS- Nights/MD, KUUU/SALT

LAKE CITY-Nights, WBVD/MELBOURNE-Nights/MD, moved to PD/Afternoons. Now i'm back doing Nights at KUUU.

1. You guys just had your Summer Jam show featuring Snoop and Ice Cube. Who was your favorite act on the bill?

Ice Cube, for sure. I grew up on his music and movies. Funny story, one of the first CDs I bought when I was 12 was his Death Certificate album in 1991. I spent $12 only to have it thrown out by mom when she heard what I was listening to!

2. Why Radio?

I wanted to go TV, when I got to broadcasting school Radio looked a lot more fun. I would hear how the jocks I grew up listening to would connect with the listeners and have such an impact on their lives I decided to go radio, and 11 years later, here I am!

3. If you could be on any TV reality show, which would you want to be on?

Easy....Bad Girls Club (maybe as one their "houseguest") if you know what I mean! lol

4. What do you do with your spare time?

Well, I work a lot during the week, so any free time is devoted to my 2 boys. I kind of feel bad I didn't get to do much with them this summer. I enjoy going for walks to the park, bike rides anything that I can do to make the time I spend with them special.

5. What's your dream radio market?

It's got to be back home in Detroit.

6. If you could have lunch with one hip hop artist that's no longer with us, who would you have lunch with?

2Pac and not just for the music. He was such a unique person, I think I could've learned a lot from him.

7. What's your favorite song on the station right now?

Nelly-Just A Dream, I'm glad he's back!

8. Where are we going to find you this Saturday night in Salt Lake City?

This spot downtown SLC called Sandbar, it's a cool little club. I love hosting there, not to mention some of the finest women in the city. It's a single guy heaven....guess that leaves me out, huh?

9. Hard to believe it but we're winding down 2010. What are you looking forward to in 2011?

Hopefully some different opportunities within our company. It's going to be an interesting year.

10. You find a magic lamp and a genie grants you three wishes for you. What are your three wishes?

1. Pay off my debts.
2. Find more time to concentrate on my health
3. Make more money

You've got children. What scares you the most about raising kids in 2010?

There's a big problem in our state with child abductions. It's really hard to trust people with your kids these days. I'm very cautious about who they are with.
