Big Time Rush stars of the hit Nickelodeon show of the same name, have released a version of 'Boyfriend' featuring Snoop Dogg. The single impacts Rhythm on February 15th.
The rapper opens the new song with a verse in which he makes a plea to be your boyfriend. "I can lift you off your feet like a flight attendant," he insists. "Imma send this car for you, is you ridin' in it?'
The track opens into a relaxed pop song with an R&B-style beat as band members take turns delivering their arguments for why a girl should give them a chance, concluding with the hook, "All I really want is to be your boy, boy, b-b-boy, b-b-boyfriend."
The original, non-Snoop version of 'Boyfriend' appears on Big Time Rush's debut album 'BTR.' The song was produced by Lucas Secon, who was worked with the likes of Cee-Lo Green, Kylie Minogue and Sean Kingston.
Nickelodeon's 'Big Time Rush,' a show about four guys who are brought together to form a boy band, began airing in 2009. The line between fiction and real-life became blurred with the release of the group's album "BTR' in October, 2010 via Sony/Columbia.
The BTR band has four members: Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Logan Henderson, and Carlos Pena Jr.
Nickelodeon partnered with Columbia/Epic Label Group to produce the show, which is why music and music instrumentals are incorporated throughout the series. All or most of the music videos for the singles are available on YouTube.
