Will.i.am

"Scream & Shout" is the latest song recorded by will.i.am and Britney Spears for will.i.am's fourth studio album #willpower although the official single cover credits the song to will.i.am and Britney Spears. The song was written by will.i.am, Jef Martens and Jean Baptiste and produced by Lazy Jay, with additional production by will.i.am.
After RCA Records executive vice president of promotions announced that Spears was going to take a break in 2012, the singer signed a contract to be a judge on the second season of American music competition show The X Factor. A few months later, she announced that she had collaborated with will.i.am on a new track; they worked together the previous year on two tracks for Femme Fatale, with "Big Fat Bass" making the final cut. Initially rumored to be called "Sexy Sexy" and set to be released on October 15th, will.i.am pushed back the release date following unauthorized leaks of the album. "Scream & Shout" was then confirmed as a single, premiering on US and UK radio on November 19th. The song was sent to mainstream radio in the United States through Interscope Records on November 27th.
The album has been preceded by two singles in the U.S.: "T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)," featuring Mick Jagger and Jennifer Lopez, and "This Is Love," featuring Eva Simons. The former debuted and peaked at No. 36 on the Billboard Hot 100 almost a year ago (Dec. 10, 2011). The latter hit No. 4 on the Dance/Club Play Songs chart in October; overseas, it was a smash hit, reaching No. 1 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart.
"Scream & Shout" marks Spears' first new music in more than a year.
