In May 2011, Miller won the Samsung and T-Mobile USA national "Kick it With the Band" competition designed to highlight some of the best talent on the verge of stardom across the country. Jake performed alongside Flo Rida, Sean Kingston, Cee Lo Green, Ne-Yo, Gym Class Heroes and Cobra Starship.
Miller released his EP "Spotlight" on July 29, 2012. The single from the EP "What I Wouldn't Give" played on radio across the country including SiriusXM Radio's Top 20 on 20 (Channel 3) and ranked near the top 50 on the Top 40 Radio chart. Miller has also released music videos for most songs off his EP including "Day Without Your Love" and "Runnin".

For an artist, earning a million dollars is a much sought after prize. As they say, whoever "they" is, the first million is the hardest. Miller doesn't care about making a million dollars, though, when he knows he can touch A Million Lives. On his latest video single, Miller delivers an ode his fans that have used his music to get through tough times. Over the breezy production of The Fliptones and in between a catchy hook provided by Insane Sounds, Miller highlights the stories of three fans who have been healed, in one way or another, through the his music, which in the end is more valuable than a record deal or expensive chain. No word yet on whether or not this tune will be a part of something larger.
