The first big new music release of 2010 belongs to Ke$ha, with her debut album "Animal". Released January 5th via RCA Records.
The 22-year-old Ke$ha has a runaway hit with her song "TiK Tok," Top 3 at Rhythm, one of those novelty-type hits that you suddenly hear everywhere, blasting from the sound systems of sports stadiums, from the open windows of passing cars, and finally from your own iTunes headphones as you give in, kicking and screaming, to all the musical peer pressure around you.
"I can officially be a one hit wonder !!! I mean. Worst case scenario," says Kesha.
"TiK ToK" hit number one in the key U.S. market where it shifted 610,000 digital tracks in a single week last month, the highest weekly sum by a female artist on record.
The New York Times described the track as "a zippy and salacious celebration of late nights and mornings-after" and likened the singer to Lady Gaga, widely considered to be the biggest international breakthrough of 2009.
