Tinashe
Feb 16, 2014

After dropping her murky, early '90's-leaning mixtape Black Water back in November, the rising alt-R&B starlet, Tinashe has finally dropped "2 On," the debut single off of her upcoming RCA debut.
The DJ Mustard-crafted, ScHoolboy Q-assisted cut sees Tinashe drifting away from her more moody, hazy offerings of the past few years and stepping foot into the club with a more radio-friendly, chilly electro-R&B thumper. "Get faded, turn up with the bad boys/Live fast, die young, that's my choice," she purrs above finger snaps, trap hi-hats, nasty beats and chilly sighs in the distance that recall her past mixtapes.
The end result is something like a female version of Tyga's "Rack City" and 2 Chainz' "I'm Different" (both also produced by Mustard) mixed with the icy flow of Cassie's "Me & U," with hypnotic minimal beats.
