The National
Sep 18, 2017
It’s been four years since The National released Trouble Will Find Me, but
Matt Berninger, Aaron Dessner, Bryce Dessner, Scott Devendorf and Bryan Devendorf now return with their seventh studio effort, Sleep Well Beast. The new project was approached with little fanfare and they took their time with the songwriting and the recording.
“The System Only Dreams In Total Darkness” proved to be a big song at Triple A. Other tracks worth your attention include the next focus track, “The Day I Die,” plus “Empire Lane,” “Dark Side Of The Gym” and “Carin At The Liquor Store.”
“We didn’t feel like rushing it,” said Aaron Dessner, who produced Sleep Well Beast. “People thought the National went away, but we were just working on ideas.”
