Paul McCartney has just released his 17th solo album, Egypt Station,
which is already getting critical praise across the world.
He recorded most of Egypt Station with producer Greg Kurstin. In addition to “Come On To Me” and “I Don’t Know,” check “Happy With You,” “Dominoes” and “Get Started.” Plus, the more rockin’ “Who Cares,” “Caesar Rock” and “Hunt You Down/Naked/C-Link.”
Of the album, McCartney said "I liked the words 'Egypt Station.' It reminded me of the 'album' albums we used to make. Egypt Station starts off at the station on the first song and then each song is like a different station. So, it gave us some idea to base all the songs around that. I think of it as a dream location that the music emanates from."
Anticipation for the album began with McCartney’s record-breaking June appearance on “Carpool Karaoke with James Corden.” He appeared on “The Howard Stern Show” on September 5th and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” September 6th. He then did a live-streaming concert on the album release day (9/7) as part of a Live YouTube Originals concert.
McCartney has announced the first U.S. leg of his Freshen Up Tour in 2019, which will take him around the world. McCartney’s One On One Tour put him in front of two million fans around the world during 2016 and 2017:
