Paul McCartney
Dec 30, 2020

During lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Paul McCartney started to go into the studio and work on new material. He ultimately wrote, produced and played everything himself. Overtime, the project began to crystalize as his third solo (literally) album McCartney !!! – to join McCartney, which was released in 1970, and McCartney II, which came ten years later in 1980.
Standout tracks include “Find My Way,“ “The Kiss of Venus,” “Polythene Pam,” “Mean Mr. Mustard” and “Deep Deep Feeling.”
Leading up to the release of the album, a number of 33-second snippets of the songs on the album were releases to his fans. In conjunction, Amazon Music did a #12DaysofPaul global street art campaign in cities around the world inspired by the new album, which was released on December 18th. Fans were invited to record their own versions of these unreleased new songs and submit them to paulmccartney.com/12DaysofPaul and on socials using the hashtag #12DaysofPaul and tagging @PaulMcCartney. This was in partnership with GRAMMY U.
Rolling Stone named McCartney III as a top 50 album of 2020, saying “it is his most adventurous solo album since 2005’s Chaos and Creation in the Backyard.”
