Matt Nathanson
Jun 20, 2011
Singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson has been doing it the old-fashioned way for more than 15 years now, constantly touring and gradually building a loyal fan base from coast to coast. He has released seven albums, the latest being "Modern Love,"
The press has always seen the talent in Nathanson, and over time he also enjoyed some significant airplay at Triple A stations across the country. But it was his last album, "Some Mad Hope," that finally broke him through all the way - led by the multi-format hit "Come On Get Higher."
Now we have the brand-new project from Nathanson in our hands as he already rides high on the charts with "Faster." Produced by Nathanson and Mark Weinberg, the songs on "Modern Love" are energetic, fully realized and creatively arranged. Check out the title track, "Room at the End of the World," "Kiss Quick," "Mercy" and "Kept."
"I made so many records before with a band in a room," said Nathanson of the recording process. "This record started that way; it started with that human element. Then the songs went into the lab; into Mark's garage in Los Angeles. Mark and I tinkering, pulling them apart, swapping parts, back and forth., bringing in different people, different ingredients., not settling, making technology work for/with heart and soul and blood."
Nathanson has already been on tour since early May and will remain on the road until the end of September. He recently performed at the Worldwide Radio Summit, the Noncommvention and is scheduled for this year's Triple A Conference. He is set to appear on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on June 22nd, with "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" and "Fox & Friends Summer Concert Series" in the works. He's already taped a PBS "Sun Studio Session" performance.
