Foals
Feb 17, 2013

Oxford, England-based Foals made quite an impression with their first two albums, Antidotes (2008) and Total Life Forever (2010), but it will surely be their latest effort, Holy Fire, which will break them through all the way.
Members Yannis Philippakis (vocals/guitar), Edwin Congreave (keyboards), Walter Gervers (bass), Jimmy Smith (guitar) and Jack Bevan (drums) are all still in their 20s yet they make very mature and intelligent music.
Their latest effort, Holy Fire (produced by Flood & Moulder), is being lauded as their most balance effort to date, and while it make rock pretty hard at times, music of this quality should be embraced by Triple A radio. In addition to the single, "Inhaler," check out "My Number," "Everytime," "Late Night" and "Providence."
"There are some elements of making records where you have to have faith in a greater power," Philippakis recently said in an interview. "That may be just inspiration or, like, a vibe - it may be whatever you believe in. But you have to believe in more than just you twatting a banjo in front of a microphone."
