Jake Bugg
Apr 14, 2013

The press story has been strong for months on young British troubadour Jake Bugg, culminating in a 4-star review in the current Rolling Stone. But he is already a true sensation back home, counting Noel Gallagher, Stone Roses, Arctic Monkeys, The Rolling Stones, Chris Martin and Snow Patrol amongst his fans.
Bugg takes a straightforward, confessional approach to his music that reveals his influences, yet he has a fresh and honest sound. In addition to "Two Fingers" and "Lightning Bolt," other stand-out tracks on his self-title debut include "Trouble Town," "Simple As This," "Ballad Of Mr. Jones" and "Someone Told Me."
"A lot of these songs are about my life before," Bugg said. "I'm not very good at explaining those sort of things, but they're all from personal experiences. I try not to think about it too much when I'm writing, because I think it's better to just let it flow."
Bugg's latest single, "Lightning Bolt," is being used worldwide in a Gatorade commercial. He has just appeared on "Late Show with David Letterman" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," and will be on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" soon. He will be an "Artist To Watch" on MTV in May.
Bugg recently played at SXSW and is slated for Coachella and Lollapalooza. He has other dates scheduled for September:
- 9/14 9:30 Club, Washington, DC
