Andrew Belle
Jul 15, 2013

Andrew Belle is a Chicago-based singer-songwriter. He released his debut album, The Ladder, in 2010 - plus two subsequent EPS -- and several of those songs ended up being used in shows such as "Grey's Anatomy," "Pretty Little Liars," "Castle" and "Vampire Diaries." He also won an award in the John Lennon Pop-Songwriting contest in 2009.
He is now set to return with his sophomore effort, Black Bear. Recorded at Blackwatch Studios in Norman, OK, it was produced and recorded by Chad Copelin.
While Belle's early vocal performances have drawn comparisons to Mat Kearney and Greg Laswell, his newest work shows strong musical influence from alternative artists such as Beach House, Washed Out, M83, and Bon Iver. In addition to "Pieces," the first single from Black Bear, other stand-out tracks include "Dark Matter," "Sister," "Want What I Want," "Details" and the title track.
Belle said of the new project, "Black Bear is an album that conceptually reflects and touches on all of the most important relationships in my life. It's a dialogue and a wrestling with God -- a continuation of the story that I began with The Ladder."
Belle has spent the past three years traveling and performing with friends such as Katie Herzig, Greg Laswell, Ben Rector, Madi Diaz, The Milk Carton Kids, and he is also part of the critically acclaimed national touring group Ten Out Of Tenn. He is set for a headlining tour starting later this month.
