Ray Lamontagne
May 12, 2014

It's hard to believe it has been 10 years since Ray LaMontagne burst on the scene. Through that time he has released four albums and several EPs, has had his songs in TV and film, and he won a Grammy!
He now returns with his fifth effort, Supernova. Produced by Dan Auerbach, the project is a distinct departure from his earlier works. Recorded in Nashville, it features many of the top players in Music City.
According to LaMontagne the different sound of this project actually began with a looser and more free-form approach to the song writing process, and his willingness to let things happen more spontaneously in the studio.
Of the process, he said, "I just kind of turned off the inner critic and got out of my own way and started making music."
In addition to the title track, several other songs stand out from Supernova including "She's The One," "Julia," "Lavender, "Airwaves" and "Drive-In Movies."
LaMontagne will be on the road all summer. He will be one of the headliners at the Fox Theatre during the Triple A Conference this August, as well.
