Delta Spirit

The fourth album from San Diego-bred five-piece Delta Spirit, Into the Wide, is easily their best song for song. Now living in Brooklyn, the band found a new energy with their music and joining up producer Ben Allen in Georgia, they set about making a new album.

For Delta Spirit vocalist/guitarist Matt Vasquez, multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Kelly Winrich, guitarist Will McLaren, bassist Jon Jameson, and drummer Brandon Young), the raw energy running throughout Into the Wide stems partly from the band's return to the more free-and-easy approach they embraced in making their debut album, 2008's Ode to Sunshine. And partly from their new home in Brooklyn.

All the song on Into The Wide are amazing but I especially like "Take Shelter," "Live On," "From Now On," "Push It, "Patriarch" and the title track.

"We just want the songs to be as epic and meaningful as possible when we play them in front of people, which is the be-all and end-all for us as a band," said Vasquez.
