Ryan Adams
Sep 7, 2014
A lot has changed for Ryan Adams in the past few years: he has moved himself, his wife and his PAX-AM studio to Los Angeles, where he has begun to lead a simpler and more healthful life. This has not affected his creative genius at all!
His new self-titled, self-produced project finds Adams as inspired and as experimental as always, offering up a diverse selection of new songs. He was helped in the studio by a number of impressive players including drummers Jeremy Stacey and Marshall Vore, keyboardist Benmont Tench, bassist Tal Wilkenfeld and multi-instrumentalist Mike Viola. Guest appearances include Johnny Depp in guitars and Mandy More on vocals.
The album features 11 great tracks including up-tempo numbers such as "Gimme Something Good," "Am I Safe" and "Feels Life Fire," and more subdued selections including "My Wrecking Ball," "Stay With Me" and "Let Go."
In a recent New York Times Magazine interview, Adams said, "In the three years nobody heard music from, I made more music than I've ever made."
Ryan Adams' video for "Gimme Something Good" features the amazing Elvira! He recently performed on the "The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon" and at this year's Triple A Conference in Boulder. Adams will be performing at the iTunes Festive in London later this month. He has North American tour dates scheduled for October.
