Meg Mac
Aug 16, 2015

Meg Mac is an Australian singer-songwriter and musician based in Sydney, Australia. Growing up with four siblings and a father who would blast Ray Charles and Van Morrison at full volume, Mac started taking formal vocal lessons at the age of nine. In between playing piano, she was always singing and she started writing songs as a teen with her mother's encouragement.
The Meg Mac EP is the culmination of her work over the past few years. It includes the first single "Roll Up Your Sleeves," as well as "Every Lie," "Turning," "Known Better" and an interesting interpretation of the Bill Withers' classic "Grandma's Hands." Look for her full album release later this year.
In a recent interview with BTY, Mac said, "I remember my sister used to write songs, and so I wanted to do it, because I saw her doing it. She had a lyric book, and I used to steal it and make up my own songs to her lyrics. So then I eventually decided to study music."
Mac has had a busy year touring the States with appearances at The NONCOMMvention, SXSW and The Triple A Conference. She also supported tours for D'Angelo and Clean Bandits. She starts a tour in her home country in September.
